I live in Spain, in a defective democracy. The political parties (mostly two of them) control the legislative and the executive powers. When a party holds the majority in parliament, it elects the president of the party as president of the government. Also, the president of the party strongly influences the list of party candidates to parliament (voters choose a closed list of candidates, not an individual MP from their constituency like in England). En el abordaje de la salud mental distintos profesionales siguen distintas escuelas que, por lo general, tienden a excluirse mutuamente. Aunque cada abordaje puede ser útil a algunas personas, es necesario utilizar un abordaje integrativo en el que no se imponga al paciente el método terapéutico preferido por el profesional que le trata. Por el contrario, hay que ofrecer un abanico de opciones y permitir una elección informada entre las distintas alternativas.
